OMEA Competition Hits a Sweet Note for XHS Musicians

On Saturday, January 20, many members of the Xenia Symphonic and Concert Bands voluntarily took the initiative to either prepare a solo or form an ensemble to perform at the Ohio Music Education Association's Solo and Ensemble Competition at Vandalia Butler High School. These students, with the help of their directors, selected a varied amount of repertoire based on the state of Ohio's OMEA required list. 

The best part? The majority of these ensembles and student solos were self-prepared and we want to recognize these outstanding students within the instrumental music department for taking on these responsibilities! This level of effort and dedication not only makes each student a better musician, but also improves each group they are part of. This level of responsibility also fosters important qualities such as: prioritizing, organization, working as a team, responsibility, and dedication to fine-tuning a talent.
