2024 Washington DC Trip

2024 DC Trip for 8th Grade Students
Posted on 05/16/2024
Last week, 81 eighth grade students and their 16 teacher and parent chaperones made their way to Washington, DC for the annual whirlwind tour that takes students to iconic landmarks, museums, and memorials in our nation's capital as they get the opportunity to see some of the places and events they studied in their American History class throughout the year.

After departing from home early on Tuesday, students started the trip with a late afternoon visit to Arlington Cemetery, as well as stops at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and the Iwo Jima Memorial in the evening.

After a White House picture stop on Thursday morning, students had the chance to drive up Embassy Row to see the National Cathedral. They continued at the Museum of African American History & Culture before visiting the Holocaust Museum.

Over the course of their three days in DC, students were able to tour the U.S. Capitol Building and Mt. Vernon, and visit the Smithsonian Museums and National Archives. They were also able to view the 9/11, WWII, Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean Memorials.
